Ice Pops

If your kids are anything like mine they love ice pops but when I have a read of the ingredients I'm never inclined to buying any! Then I spotted these DIY empty ice pop wrappers that you fill up yourself. This is a picture of the first batch that I made - it was super easy and fun! I've made a smoothie mix of strawberries, banana, a little avocado and acai berries - so they are filled with antioxidants and good fats. Coconut water to hydrate them, a vegan protein powder (or you can use hemp seeds) so they don't go wild after the sugar, and some probiotics to help support their gut and immune system.

It's the best thing ever! Absolutely no nasties in them and you can pimp them with different ingredients that you like making them a readily healthy snack

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries

  • 1 banana

  • 1/4 - 1/2 an avocado

  • 1 tsp acai berry powder

  • 1 tbs hemp seeds or protein powder

  • 1 cup coconut water

  • 2 probiotic capsules emptied out (I use BioKult)

Blend all the ingredients (except the probiotics) in a blender until smooth. Once blended add the probiotics and give it another quick whizz. Fill in the ice pop wrapper and freeze.
